A LAZY AFTERNOON WITH THE BUGALOOS!

At 2 o'clock sharp, the Bugaloos step briskly into the Teen World office ready to meet you - their fans.  The minute you see their friendly smiles, you know you're in for an afternoon of fun with some of your favorite people.

Caroline, Big John, Wayne, and Little John greet you with a cheery "Hi!" and a few comments about the beautiful weather.  Then they get relaxed in four big comfy chairs.

To start with, you want to know just how these lucky four got to be Bugaloos.  "Well, it wasn't too easy," admits Wayne very honestly.

"That's right," Little John continues.  "I was working back home in Kent as a pants presser in a factory when I heard of the auditions.  In a big display of courage -" (and everyone laughs as Little John makes reference to his Bugaloo character) - "I asked my boss for a few days off and went to London...for the first time in my life, incidentally."

"Getting there wasn't so difficult for me," adds London-born Caroline, who has an impressive list of commercials and British films and stage plays to her credit.  "But sitting there watching the others audition was just maddening.  I'd think to myself 'I can sing better than that girl.'  But you never know what the producer's thinking."

"Everything was a test," Little John points out.  "Even going out to dinner!"

"We were just the lucky ones, I guess," says Big John with a smile.

And you think, "No, they were just the most talented and best for the part."

You remember them mentioning the nice weather when they arrived, and now you're wondering what else they like or dislike about the United States.

"Everything's great here," says Wayne.  "The one thing I do find a problem, though, is getting used to your American money.  But," he admits, "I imagine I'd be having just as much trouble back in England now with their new system of currency!"

"I think American girls are really fantastic," says Big John as he looks at you very approvingly.  "They're all so friendly.  I haven't had the chance to meet as many as I'd like, but all those I have met are really interesting, too."

Speaking of girls, you turn to Caroline and ask what's it like to be the only girl in the group.

"It's just great!" she admits with a big grin.  "I have three wonderful adopted brothers looking after me all the time."

"And she looks after us," adds Little John.  "Did you know that Mom's the best tea-maker in the world?  In case you're wondering, we call Caroline Mom.  She's like a sister to us.  We respect her opinions and that's why we let her check out our girls before we date."

"Yes," says Wayne, "and we usually check out her guys."

Time's running out fast.  But before the Bugaloos take their leave, you'd like to know what plans they have for the future.

"That's really hard to say," admits Little John.  "Right now I enjoy what I'm doing, but in ten years I may prefer something else."

"Comedy's in my future," says Big John.  "I grew up in a circus where I was a clown and I really enjoyed that.  I'd eventually like to do comedy in films."

Caroline says she'd like to try everything.  "I plan to continue singing, dancing and acting, and maybe do more theater.  Of course," she adds, "I want to settle down some day - get married and have children - just like most other girls."

"I think I'll do whatever turns me on," declares Wayne.  "It's important for a person to be happy in what he or she is doing and if I suddenly feel like digging ditches, I'll dig ditches!"

You glance up at the clock on the office wall and you see that it's time for the Bugaloos to go.  Before they leave, they thank you for a very pleasant afternoon and tell you they hope to see you again.  As they say their good-byes and walk down the hall, you know that you'll be seeing a lot more of them.
